Status of Report Development

The consultation period for the draft Neighbourhood Plan took place between June 11th and August 6th 2016.  During that period, a series of drop-in sessions and an open forum event were held where many people came along to meet members of the team and hear more about the background as to what we are striving to achieve on behalf of our community.

The charts below show both the range of issues raised by residents and the level of support shown for what we are proposing.  It is gratifying to see that over 80% of those that provided comments either agreed or strongly agreed with our plans!

The team will now review all the feedback received and then make recommendations for changes to the draft report, where this is considered justified.  Any changes will have to be reviewed and agreed by our Parish Council before they can be included in an updated version of the report.

Once that is done, the report will be formally submitted to Stratford District Council to seek their support before submission to an Independent Examiner who will assess whether the policies that are being proposed are acceptable from an overall planning point of view, including checking for compliance with National and European legislation. It is hoped that we will reach this stage by early 2017.

Once the Independent Examiner accepts our report, the decision to accept the policies contained within the report, for incorporation into the District Local Plan (Core Strategy), will be taken by residents of the Parish where a simple majority of those voting will ensure that the Neighbourhood Plan is finally approved!
