The Submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan has been approved by the Parish Council!
At an extraordinary meeting held on 18th October, the Parish Council approved the ‘Submission’ version of the Neighbourhood Plan report. This takes into account agreed changes, based on feedback received during the consultation process, to the earlier ‘Pre-
In addition, draft versions of the ‘Consultation Report’and the ‘Basic Conditions Report’ have now been prepared which are currently being considered by the Parish Council. These reports respectively provide a summary of the consultation process that took place earlier in the year and confirm that the Submission Report takes full account of the sustainability requirements specified in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) standard. When these two reports have been approved by the Parish Council, they will be added to the website in the “Reports” section.
Once SDC have supported the Submission version of the report, and an independent consultant has carried an environmental screening check, these three reports will be formally submitted to SDC to seek their support before being sent to an Independent Examiner who will assess whether the policies that are being proposed are acceptable from an overall planning point of view, including checking for compliance with National and European legislation. It is hoped that we will reach this stage by early 2017.
Once the Independent Examiner accepts our reports, the decision to approve the associated policies for incorporation into the District Local Plan (Core Strategy), will be taken by residents of the Parish where a simple majority of those voting will ensure that the Neighbourhood Plan is finally approved!
